Chrononaut Cotillion: Enchantment Under The Sea
Fire up your DeLorean and head back to the future with the BrassGears Adventurers Society for this edition of the Chrononaut Cotillion! We will have a fun filled evening featuring dancing to the rocking sounds of DJ Michael Larkin. Our special Guests are the Naughty Nerds Cabaret! There will be door prizes, cut throat musical chairs, explosions, and fun galore. Please note that there is a cash bar. ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE DRINKS ALOWED! Mr. Strickland or his representative will confiscate it. Not even kidding.

The Conglomeration
This is our 11th Annual Conglomeration. It will feature camping, food, fire, tea, and pizza! Sometimes there are outdoor movies. Sometimes there is kite flying. Some times there is a velocipede!
Zoetrope Making Workshop
The Zoetrope is a predecessor of moving pictures. Join the BrassGears and make your own zoetrope. Materials will be provided. There is no fee for this activity!
DemiCon
Join us and our friends at DMSSFS for the 35th Demicon : Once More, With Feeling! There will be a BrassGears Room Party, a Steampunk 101 Panel, numerous costuming panels, hall costumes, formal masquerade, and much much more. BrassGears Adventure Radio will be presenting Revenge of the Lizard Men for your listening pleasure!
Iowa Historical Museum Field Trip

Cooking With Steam - The Jules Verne Version
It’s my birthday!
Once more, the Steamy Chefs of the BrassGears Adventurers Society will be whipping up some steamy treats to share with the world via the magic of YouTube! The foods concocted will reference the works of Jules Verne. The video will drop on February 8th.
Tarot Meet-Up

We will be meeting via the Magic of the Aether (Zoom) to talk about tarot. Susan and Jeannette will be sharing a bit of information and then we’ll just have a deck show and tell. The zoom address will be shared closer to the event .
The Chrononaut Cotillion - An Outlandish Hogmanay
Ach ye laddies and lassies, please join the BrassGears Adventurers Society for the next installment of the Chrononaut Cotillion - An Outlandish Hogmanay! We will travel through the stones to the 18th century and explore the Scottish custom of Hogmanay. There will be vignettes for your picture taking pleasure. A DJ will be spinning tunes for your dancing endeavors. The evening will feature games such as Cut Throat Musical Chairs. New this year is a Bonny Knees Competition to determine the best looking knees under a kilt.
Our special entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Naughty Nerds Cabaret! These amazing performers will be enticing us with their burlesque charms. Last year’s show was spectacular. They’ve promised that this year’s performances will be even better!

Join the BrassGears as we raise a toast to destiny in celebration of our founding.
We will gather at Bench Warmers in Ankeny in the private party room. There will be food, drink, and parrots.
BAS Drink and Draw!
A virtual Drink and Draw event! Send photos ahead of time to Monty McAllister. On the day of the event, pour a glass of fine Chablis and your sketch pad and colored pencils ready. Monty will show us a photo and we will have a set amount of time to draw it!

Once again we will be cooking with steam in a virtual event. Monty McAllister will provide live steaminess and Susanna Davenport will have video steam. Perhaps there will be a guest steamer as well. Chrononaut Cotillion - Moulin Rouge Edition

It’s the Chrononaut Cotillion with a bit of Ooooh Lah Lah tossed in for good measure! A night of elegance, music, dance, and burlesque! Join the BrassGears Adventurers Society, and Des Moines Science Fiction & Fantasy Society, LTD, as our time machine takes us to Paris 1899 the world's most famous cabaret house. Ring in the new year in style, with door prizes, Tarot Readings, and a steampunk burlesque show included with your admission. Cash bar, Tin Type photos, and attached lodgings are extra. Doors open at 8pm on Saturday December 31st, 2022.

Conglomeration - Lite
This is a truncated version of the Conglomeration that had to be rescheduled. Expect wood-fired pizza, friendly conversations, bonfire, and frivolity! People are welcome to camp Saturday night. Bring your woolies!

BAS Zoo Tour & Picnic at Blank Park Zoo
Join Agatha Gumption at the zoo as she describes many of the animals and talks about Victorian zoos. This is an in-person event, and we would need at least 15 people signed up to get the group rates. The time is still TBD, but we are looking at early afternoon. We also plan on having a little picnic at a park close by. Details still to come...

Chrononaut Cotillion - Pandemic at the Disco
Whether your TARDIS needs a charge, or your Flux Capacitor needs calibration, join us for a special celebration before the timelines get sorted out, as we present: The Chrononaut Cotillion: PANDEMIC AT THE DISCO, a 70s Steampunk Disco Experience. Doors open at 8pm on Friday December 31st, 2021. Enjoy an evening of music, dance, costumes, prizes, games with a cash bar.
Please Note: Proof of vaccination will be required for admittance.
All guests will be required to wear a filtering mask covering the nose and mouth at all times unless drinking, which is to be done only seated at the tables provided.

Holiday Melodies of 2021
We're getting together to serenade you during the holiday season and/or give you a chance to practice your tunes before your gatherings with family and friends. A limited number of people will be meeting up at Dame Agatha and Captain Archie's house in Urbandale to play together, but we'll broadcast the session on Zoom for others to join in or just listen. (Link to come.)
Please message Agatha for directions if you want to be there in person and to be sure we aren't filled up. Vaccine/negative COVID test will be required for the in-house BUMs.
Music can be found in the Monty McAllister ukulele songbook. We'll try to post the songs we might play either during or before the session. Watch this space for any changes!

Every year in October, the BrassGears Adventurers Society hosts a Birthday Dinner to celebrate the founding of our fellowship. Date and venue TBD.
The Annual BrassGears Conglomeration
The Annual BAS Camping Conglomeration will be September 10 thru 12, 2021. This event that is held on the president's acreage 1546 Rohret Rd SW, Oxford, IA in September. Come camp, gather apples, play croquet, battle the elements, fly kites, parasol dueling, sit around the campfire telling ghost stories or watch an outdoor silent movie or two. Now set for the whole weekend. The Conglomeration is for those steampunk stalwarts who like fashion, but wish to ruff it with the privilege of modern amenities.
If you are not a camp out sort of person. There are hotels located at Exit 225 (Amana Exit) and at Williamsburg Exit 220 off of the interstate. The Amana Exit is about 15 minutes from the event. Potluck set up, so bring food to share.
BAS Cemetery/Graveyard Tombstone Safari
Put on your pith helmet and go on a field trip to a cemetery to take photos of interesting headstones. Then join us for a virtual meet-up at 2 pm (Central) to share and discuss your findings with guest expert Mike Zahs.
BUMs Ukulele Play and Sing-Along
Sing and play along with Monty and the BrassGears Ukulele Melodium, or stop by to listen or request a song. Let’s tiptoe through the time stream with music!

Bootleggers Ball
A BrassGears Adventurers Society steampunk adventure weekend which will feature a Bootlegger Ball! Dates and venues to be determined.
